In 2020 Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) and Vilnius University Business School announced a new research partnership based around the institutions’ shared focus and expertise in the areas of entrepreneurship and family business. It puts in place an initial two-year agreement which will see LUMS establish a base on the Vilnius Business School campus to pursue opportunities for collaborative research and support for high-growth businesses.
Research, Engagement and Delivery Research Center (R-E-D) is a branded LUMS base on the campus of Vilnius University to provide a platform for local research, engagement and potentially teaching delivery:
- Facilitate, coordinate and promote collaborative research activities, contribute to research culture at VU BS;
- Organise and promote international mobility, knowledge exchange, contribute to the potential of both institutions LUMS and VUBS;
- Engage with local entrepreneurs and family businesses in the region, help grow spin-offs located at the Sunrise Valley campus and outside Vilnius;
- Collaborate around different foundations to develop economic development interventions strengthen LUMS’ reach into global entrepreneurial communities;
- Develop executive education courses, new, deeper research, engagement oriented initiatives linked to the entrepreneurial ecosystem;
- Develop links between Lancaster and Vilnius universities at a broader, institutional level, including in areas such as health, social and environmental innovation.
